Friday Favorites – Week 3

Another week gone by and another Friday Favorites post! Today also marks exactly one month of blogging! I cannot believe how quickly it has gone by or how wonderful and supportive everyone has been. I really appreciate it! Now, onto this week’s favorites –

Food Experience
150716073010-lays-do-us-a-flavor-finalists-2015-780x439 copyEach year, Lays comes out with a contest to pick their next new flavor. And each year, their top picks end up being made and sent out to the stores for the general potato chip eating public to decide the winner. This past week I shamefully tried each of the four flavors: New York Reuben, Southern Biscuits and Gravy, West Coast Truffle Fries, and Greektown Gyro. My favorite? West Coast Truffle Fries, though Southern Biscuits and Gravy is in a close second. Has anyone else dared to try these?

Chicago Cubs Selling Playoff Tickets
Whether you’re a Cubs fan, White Sox fan or none of the above, if you follow baseball at all, you know the fact that the Cubs are selling Playoff Tickets is crazy. While I love my Cubbies, it has gotten to the point where I don’t really expect them to do so hot. So now that this season is this far along and they’re still doing so well, I’m sort of amazed – in a good way, of course.

20150814_184651Personal Activity
This past weekend I had a much needed silly night out with two of my good friends. We went out for dinner, drinks and games at our local Dave and Buster’s. For those of you unfamiliar with Dave and Buster’s, think of an adult version of Chuck E. Cheese’s. It was a fun night of laughing and goofing around – complete with winning the jackpot level of tickets on a large scale Angry Birds game. (My apologies about the poor image quality)

Home Update
While I don’t have much to update here, I wanted to at least mention it. Traffic has still been painfully slow with the house. We’re hoping to find some luck and be able to move before the weather really turns, or the holidays sneak up. I’ll try not to complain too much, but positive thoughts are always appreciated!

And lastly, I’m going to go ahead and plug my social media links. While my readership has slowly been climbing (thank you to everyone who keeps stopping back!) my social media accounts are sad. In the future I plan on sharing and having social media only give-a-ways, so if you’re interested, please follow me!

Top Activities in Chicago to Enjoy Before It Snows

Midwest Road Trip: Minneapolis

  1. Hil

I have never been to Chicago but that is a pretty picture!! I have young ones but I look forward to the night I can go out too and have some adult fun.

  2. Yay for cubs tickets! Happy one month of blogging!

  3. Haha, my husband tried the chips and he loved the Southern Biscuits! My Dad spent BIG MONEY on the playoff tickets yesterday. I really hope they make it this year!

  4. Happy one month blogiversary!! 🙂 Cheers to many, many more!

  5. Dave and Buster’s is great! I’ve been there many times over the past few years. Definitely a great place to have a fun night with friends.

  6. I haven’t been to Chicago in years, but both my mom and my brother are HUGE Cubs fans.
Does Dave & Buster’s have ski ball? If so, I am so there.

  7. Congrats! This is my 9 month and I am still struggling a lot with all the tricks. I will suggest you grow your Instagram more because it is the most desirable one for sponsors. 😉

Take care and keep in touch!
Please stop by every Wednesday for Color and Grace Fashion link up! 🙂

    • Thanks for the tip, Grace! I know I really need to start an Instagram account – I’ve never used it before so I’m attempting to build up my followers on social media platforms I’m familiar with first for a little bit. It is on my to-do list for September though 🙂

  8. Happy one month blogging 😀 I’ve never been to Chicago but always wanted to go. I haven’t been to Dave and Busters in forever, but I loved it when I was younger! Way too much fun.

  9. How did I not hear about the Lay’s upcoming flavors to try!?!?!? I would have loved to give those a whirl! I’m in complete disbelief at the Cubs, too. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with them… fingers crossed!

I second the suggestion on joining Instagram. Personally, it is my favorite out of all of the social media platforms. =)

    • I think you can still grab the chips at Jewel if you’re interested 🙂 And thanks for the push to jump on Instagram. Maybe I’ll give it a try sooner rather than later!

  10. Congrats on one month of blogging! It goes by so fast. I love that picture of Chicago, too! Good luck with getting more prospective buyers to see the house- I hear you on getting out before the winter!
